Who operates PORTALD
PORTALD is a trading name of IT BOFFINS LTD, a company registered in England and Wales. We provide client portal software for small businesses.
- The business using each portal is responsible for its customer relationship, the information it requests and its professional or compliance decisions.
- PORTALD provides the software. We do not provide regulated financial, legal, compliance or identity-verification advice.
Who can access your portal
Your team and your customers sign in separately. A login alone is not enough: users also need permission to see the relevant records.
- Access checks keep records within the right business and customer account. Audit logs record supported actions by your team.
- Each business portal has its own customer passwords. A customer using two businesses' portals may have a different password for each.
- Invitations are intended for the customer or contact named by the inviting business. If you receive an unexpected invitation, check with that business before entering information.
- Businesses should limit team access, remove users who no longer need it and keep customer contact details current.
Monitoring and abuse prevention
New portals go live at sign-up. We monitor new workspaces and can suspend portals that misrepresent a business or misuse the service.
- Suspension blocks customer sign-in, invitations and uploads. Unrecognised portal addresses do not show a business-branded login.
- Public-service, financial and third-party brand names are reserved from self-service PORTALD subdomains.
- Report a suspicious portal or invitation to hello@portald.co.uk.
Integrations and provider relationships
You choose whether to connect integrations such as Xero. We also use providers for hosting, file storage, email and billing. Each has its own terms.
- Connect your accounting account to show customers their linked invoices. Customers never need to give PORTALD an accounting password.
- Xero is a trademark of Xero Limited. PORTALD is independent software operated by IT BOFFINS LTD. PORTALD is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Xero.
- IT Boffins appears in the Xero Custom Integrator directory for its integration services. That listing does not mean PORTALD is a Xero-endorsed App Store app.
- Optional AI checks give you a first look at documents. They can be wrong, do not verify identity and never replace your professional judgement.
Product enquiries and your data
Our contact and walkthrough forms only need your business contact details and a short question.
- Do not send passwords, card or bank details, customer files, government identifiers or third-party login credentials through these forms.
- We do not sell enquiry data or client portal content.

Report a security concern
No online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
- Check that invitation links lead to the PORTALD portal or verified business domain you were expecting.
- If a message asks for passwords or payment details in an unusual way, contact the business or PORTALD before responding.
