A customer list you can bring with you

Start a PORTALD trial, then open Customers → Import CSV. Keep your SuiteDash export until you have checked the imported records.

  1. Step 1

    Export from SuiteDash

Open CRM → Contacts or Companies. Select the records and fields you want, then use Export to download a CSV. Include company names, contact names, emails and any phone numbers you need.

  2. Step 2

    Match and review

Choose the file in PORTALD and match its headings to the fields. Preview grouped customers, primary contacts and warnings. A Role column lets you keep only rows marked Client.

  3. Step 3

    Import, then invite

Select the customers you have checked and confirm the import. Open their records to review contacts. Send portal invitations separately when your new portal is ready.

SuiteDash exports can have different headings and selected fields. PORTALD suggests common matches and lets you change them. Read SuiteDash’s export instructions.

What the import brings across

Customer or company names
One customer record per name; contacts with the same company name stay together.
Contact names and emails
Use full names or separate first and last names. Emails are checked before import.
Phone numbers and primary contact
Bring optional phone numbers and choose SuiteDash’s primary-contact column.

Rows without an email can create a customer record without contact details. Existing customers, archived records and shared contact emails are flagged for review. Existing records are never overwritten.

What you will set up separately

  • Files and attachments
  • Messages and past activity
  • Passwords and existing portal logins
  • Invoices, subscriptions and payment details
  • Forms, workflows, custom fields and automation rules

This is a customer-list migration. PORTALD does not reproduce every SuiteDash feature. Check that PORTALD’s forms, files, checklists and signatures cover your next workflow before switching.

Questions before you move

Can I import my whole account?

The CSV importer brings customer names and contact details. Files, messages, passwords, invoices, templates and workflows need separate handling.

Will customers receive an email straight away?

No. Importing creates records only. Review your portal and send invitations from the customer records when you are ready.

What happens if I import the same file twice?

The preview checks customer names and contact emails against your existing records, including archived customers. Matching records are flagged and cannot be selected. Nothing is overwritten.

What are the import limits?

Use a UTF-8 CSV with a header row, up to 500 data rows, 64 columns and 1 MB. Import up to 100 customers per run. Contacts sharing a company name are grouped into one customer. Your plan’s customer limit still applies.

Try your next portal with a few customers first

Set up your logo, a form and a file request. Import a small selection and see whether PORTALD fits the way you work.
